Vaarttha News paper published an article on the background work of Kapu-Backword Classes alliance under the leadership of Chiranjeevi. According to article, leaders from the both communities are trying to form an alliance that will permanently change the political map of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra politics are dominated by Kamma and Reddy communities for the past 50 years. If this alliance is formed, Andhra politics may move in the way of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Before 1982, Reddy community dominated the political situation in Andhra Pradesh. Arrival of N.T. Rama Rao permanently altered the fortunes of Kammas and Backward classes. Will BCs move away from Telugu Desam to form a new alliance? Currently, BC leaders are enjoying top positions in the TDP. Can Chiranjeevi attract these leaders? Chiranjeevi is playing wait and watch game. He is now attracting all sections of people through social service and movies. Will these people vote for him if he forms an alliance?
Will this alliance came to power?
If numbers are important in the political game, this alliance can easily come to power. But, lack of unity and uninspiring leadership may destroy the chances of their ambitions.
Some questions need to be answered?
1. Will Chiranjeevi agree to these types of caste combinations?
2. Can this alliance attract intelligent and inspiring leaders like Devender Goud?
3. Will Chiranjeevi agree to be remembered as a caste leader?
4. Will BCs (dominant in number) agree to the leadership of Kapu?
5. Will BCs remain united in districts like Srikakulam and Vizayanagaram?
6. Will Kapu and BCs remain united?
Union of backward classes with Muslims changed the political equations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar which are previously ruled by upper caste leaders. If Back ward classes can able to succeed to form an alliance with Kapus, they can easily win the 2009 Assembly elections.
