Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy decided to go ahead with “Odarpu Yatra” (consolation tour) against the wishes of Congress party high command which is expected to create ripples in Andhra Pradesh politics. Congress Party high command still has not given permission to this consolation tour.
Jaganmohan Reddy is starting this consolation tour on July 8 which is incidentally YSR’s birthday. But, Andhra Pradesh Assembly session will start from July 7. So, no MLA may participate in this tour.
Y.S. Jagan Odarpu Yatra tour schedule:
July 6: Jagan will visit YSR Samadhi at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district along with his family and pay homage.
July 7, 4 PM: Falakhnuma express will start from Secunderabad
July 8, 7:30 AM: Y.S. Jagan will reach Ichchapuram by Falakhnuma express.
July 8-10: Odarpu Yatra in Srikakulam district
July 11-15: Odarpu Yatra in East Godavari district
Andhra Pradesh politics will burn hot in July with Telangana by-elections, Assembly session and Jagan tour. We have to see whether Jagan will make any political statements in this tour or not.
In the recent NTV-Nielsen-ORG Marg survey, people picked Y.S. Jagan as the most popular political leader in Andhra Pradesh. But, in Congress politics, popularity is a disadvantage unlike in other parties. Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy still seems to be struggling to understand Congress party’s high command politics.
At this time in last year, he was on high as he elected to Loksabha from Kadapa constituency with a majority of more than 1, 72,000 votes. But, things changed drastically in the last 10 months after YSR death as Jagan failed to take political steps strategically.
We have to see where Jagan will be after 1 year.
